Hey everyone! Welcome to Littlefoot Montessori. I can’t wait to meet and get to know you all! My name is Lord Ramsey and my journey with education has been up and down. I was born and raised in San Francisco, CA and grew up hating school. I know, it’s ironic huh? I only grew up hating school because most of my teachers (except one) took the time to try to understand the way my brain works. She believed I wasn’t “dumb” or “stupid.” She believed that I could learn. You could say that Ruby Libscomb was my own Maria Montessori. Unfortunately, she was only my teacher for one year, but I eventually started calling her my grandmother. So in fact, my love for teaching came from my own struggles in school. It is kind of odd going from “sucking at school,” to wanting to start my own school. I grew up feeling inadequate and insecure. I never trusted myself on core subjects like math, reading, or spelling, and of course it didn’t help that I had learning differences. I stooped to the level everyone saw me at. It wasn’t until I was blessed with a big family, and started learning about Montessori, that it became very clear to me… I never wanted anyone to feel the way that I did growing up. So that’s my story and what led me to my passion for teaching for the past 10+ years as an AMS (American Montessori Society) trained teacher. I spent 7 years as a Children’s House Teacher (ages 2.5-6) and 3 years as a Lower Elementary Teacher (1st-3rd grade). We look forward to having you join us on our journey and I truly can’t wait to have you all a part of the Littlefoot Montessori family!
Hi there! I'm so excited you've found us! My name is Nichelle Esquitin (aka Ramsey). I grew up in Los Angeles, CA. In high school my first experiences working with children was coaching cheer and gymnastics. I then went on to receive a degree in Child Development from the University of California, Davis and became a preschool teacher after graduation. Sadly, my tenure as a teacher was short lived. I was over-worked and underpaid and I couldn't forsee it being a long term career at the time. My career since then has been in various management and opertational capacities but I am very excited to get back into the world of teaching. My training in school was based in a philosophy called Reggio-Emilia, but after meeting Lord, reading books on Montessori, and beginning to apply the philosophy with our son, I have seen the wonders it can do for a child's independence and confidence. I am very excited to follow Lord's lead in the classroom and learn from his many years of experience. As a half-Mexican fluent Spanish speaker I am also excited to be able to provide the children with Spanish enrichment. I cannot wait for you to be a part of the Littlefoot Montessori family!
